For Professionals: Herbicide Delays after Seeding

Many turf areas required dormant seeding or seeding this spring to help repair damage from last summer and fall. Weed germination is just around the corner and may be problematic on thin turf. Almost all herbicides will affect turfgrass seedlings and application delays are usually needed following seeding. Following is information gleaned from available labels of most herbicides or herbicide types that would be used in Indiana. This is intended to provide a general idea of the limitations of each active ingredient. Since different formulations of the same active ingredient may have different precautions and labels of post-patents may differ from proprietary products, please refer to the actual label of your specific product prior to use.
