FMC’s Solitare 75WG received its federal and state label for Indiana in June and is should be available from your professional product distributors. Solitare is a combination of sulfentrazone (Dismiss) and quinclorac (Drive and others) and should provide control of yellow nutsedge, crabgrass, clover and a wide variety of other broadleaf weeds that are currently in lawns. Though we have never used Solitare on Star-of-Bethlehem, it is one weed that appears on its label and may be one of the only postemergence herbicides labeled for this spring-time weed. Like with all herbicides new and old, you want to experiment on a handful of settings, species, and/or cultivars before widespread use and be sure to read the label for full instructions.
