Reminder of Midwest Regional Turf Field Day on July 27

The Midwest Regional Turf Field Day will be held on July 27 at the Wm H Daniel Turfgrass Research and Diagnostic Center in West Lafayette. This is a great opportunity for turf professionals to view the latest in turfgrass research, talk to Purdue specialists about turf and ornamental issues, and visit with exhibitors displaying the latest in turf equipment and products. The morning tours are top-notch again this year with talks on lawn, sports, and golf turf including calibrating ride-on spreaders, insect control, fertilization, summer diseases, State Chemist update on fungicide re-entry enforcement, ID and control of nimblewill, Poa trivialis and Poa annua. There will also be an afternoon program (with air conditioning) on turf insect pests. We have been approved for 3 CCH’s in Cat 3b and RT for the Field Day as well as GCSAA educational units. Additionally, Pork Chop Charlie will serve his renowned Pork Chops at noon. As always at MRTF Events, registration (excluding lunch) is complimentary for Purdue county extension educators. Also if you join the Midwest Regional Turf Foundation as a new member now, you will receive one free admission to Field Day. More information will be available from Jennifer at 765-494-8039 or at http://www.agry.purdue.edu/turf/events/field day/AttFD04.pdf.
