Letter to Gov. Holcomb Advocating for Green Industry Employment as “Essential/Critical Work”

MRTF Members:

Notice: On behalf of the Midwest Regional Turfgrass Foundation (MRTF) and the Allied Green Industry Professional Organizations a letter (attached) was developed and sent to Governor Holcomb’s office earlier today. The intent of this letter was to advocate with a unified voice for The Green Industry broadly defined (lawn-landscape, athletic turf, golf course, etc.) and hopefully ensure the continued sustained employment of our Green Industry under any Shelter in Place order. The document highlights the need and benefits of all that we do as an industry and the critical nature of continuing to maintain these properties as they are perennial plant systems and require care, especially in the Spring or catastrophic failure may result.

Thank you for your support and your membership in the MRTF. Should you have any questions, comments or concerns please do not hesitate to contact me or any of our MRTF Board members so that we can help.

Thank you,

Jim Held – President MRTF
