Thank You to Everyone who Attended the Indiana Green Expo

On behalf of the Turf Program, Midwest Regional Turf Foundation (MRTF), Indiana Nursery and Landscape Association (INLA), and Indiana Flower Growers Association (IFGA), I’d like to thank everyone who helped with and/or attended the 2009 Indiana Green Expo on January 12-14 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis.  This marks the third year of cooperation between the MRTF and INLA and the first year we were joined by the IFGA.

  • Nearly 2300 professionals attended workshops and educational sessions covering all areas of turf, business, landscape, nursery, parks, and recreation industries.
  • The tradeshow included over 250 booths displaying products for all sectors of the green industry.
  • Randy Brehmer was awarded the 2009 MRTF Distinguished Service Award for his many years of support to the Turf Program, it’s students, and the Industry.
  • Over a dozen students in turfgrass, horticulture and landscape architecture were awarded scholarships totaling over $12,000.

Next year’s Expo is set for Jan. 6-8 , 2010 and planning is already underway. Keep yourself updated at the website: www.indianagreenexpo.com. If you have suggestions for speakers, topics, tradeshow modifications, etc., please email me at zreicher@purdue.edu.

Thanks again for everyone’s help.
