Thanks to Everyone who Attended Indiana Green Expo

On behalf of the Turf Program, Midwest Regional Turf Foundation (MRTF), Indiana Nursery and Landscape Association (INLA), and Indiana Parks and Recreation Association (IPRA), I’d like to thank everyone who helped with and/or attended the 2007 Indiana Green Expo on January 10-12 at the Indiana Convention Center in Indianapolis. This marks the first year where the INLA joined the MRTF and IPRA and the joint conference was a tremendous success.

  1. • Nearly 3000 professionals attended workshops and educational sessions covering all areas of turf, business, landscape, nursery, parks, and recreation industries.
    • The tradeshow was sold out with over 100 companies exhibiting in 350 booths displaying products for all sectors of the green industry.
    • Allen Wehr was awarded the 2007 MRTF Distinguished Service Award for his many years of support to the Turf Program, it’s students, and the Industry.
    • A dozen students in turfgrass, horticulture and landscape architecture were awarded scholarships totaling over $8000.

The Expo provides tremendous positive exposure for the Turf Program as well as the Landscape Ornamentals Program. We could never pull this off without the tremendous help of the boards of directors of the MRTF, INLA and IPRA, and our great staff in the Departments of Agronomy, Botany and Plant Pathology, Entomology, and Horticulture and Landscape Architecture.
Thanks again for everyone’s help.
