The IN-IL Turfgrass Short Course will be held on Feb 21-24 in Willowbrook, IL, again this year. This is an outstanding course for new and experienced turf professionals. It’s designed for turf managers with some experience and an understanding of HOW we maintain turf, and meant to improve the understanding of WHY we do the maintenance practices we do. The class has been shortened to four days to make the lodging slightly more affordable, but the length of the days has been extended to maintain the contact hours. The course begins with turfgrass growth and physiology and progresses through soils, fertilization, and establishment, and finally culminates with weed, disease, and insect control. This course has been referred to as a “boot camp” for turf and the demand for this course has been outstanding over the last 10 years.
