Dear Supporter of the Purdue Turf Science Program,
The Purdue Turf Club would like to extend our greetings and future holiday wishes to you. As we enter the end of the growing season we begin to consider the upcoming industry conferences. With these comes the opportunity for our Turf Science students to compete in the annual Collegiate Turf Quiz Bowl competitions. As you may be aware, we typically send several teams to compete at both the Sports Turf Manager’s Conference and the Golf Industry Show Conference. We take great pride in the fact that we have consistently placed several teams in the top ten every year at both competitions. Recall, in 2009, Purdue took home first place at the GIS Conference! As you can imagine our students work very hard to compete and represent Purdue at these competitions.
We are already busy preparing for the 2011 competitions. This January, the STMA Conference will be held in Austin, TX and the GIS Conference will be held in Orlando, FL. We are all looking forward to representing Purdue Turf Science at these competitions. As you can imagine our students do more than compete in the quiz bowl at these conferences. These trips are a great opportunity for our students to network with the industry, meet potential future employers and experience the industry trade-shows.
In an effort to show pride for the Purdue Turf Science program and also assist in defraying travel expenses for our students we would like to offer you an opportunity to purchase some Purdue Turf apparel.
